As a multinational brand, ALEC FITOUT has worked with a broad range of businesses and projects from countries across the GCC; a fact that has helped it to develop its reputation as a reliable, innovative contractor that caters for the discerning requirements of its clients.
In the case of Qatar, this has led to reoccurring work on a variety of projects both domestically and internationally.
Starting with the country’s gateway, Hamad International Airport, ALEC FITOUT was commissioned as part of a JV with QIT IMAR to deliver its retail and duty-free package. Covering 23,000m2, the scope included fit out and finishing works, MEP and lighting, specialist systems, design and build, as well as structural and enabling works. The same JV was also hired to deliver the airport’s F&B fit out package, which included design, civil works, mill works, kitchen equipment, MEP, safety, IT and data solutions, signage and FF&E. Covering 2,200m2, the project included seven individual food court brands and four fine dining.
Remaining on the theme of aviation, ALEC FITOUT also independently won the contract to deliver the Qatar Airways Lounge at Dubai International Airport in Concourse D. Covering 500m2, the scope covered the complete fit-out, including MEP and kitchen equipment and has created a plush sanctuary for passengers ahead of travel.
Most recently, ALEC FITOUT was privileged to work with Santiago Calatrava on the Qatar Pavilion at Expo 2020. Featuring a sleek and contemporary design that embodied the nation’s past and vision for the future, ALEC FITOUT’s expertise were leveraged to create a fully immersive, sustainable experience for visitors, who were able to tour two main galleries and exhibition spaces. Thanks to close collaboration, the project was delivered in just five months.
